Midweek Devotional: When the Path Isn’t Clear
There are moments in life where the choice in front of you isn’t between right and wrong. It’s between what feels right and what also feels right. That’s where David found himself.
Anointed as king, yet still under Saul’s rule. Chosen by God, yet forced to wait. Given opportunity after opportunity to take control, yet choosing restraint instead.
David had every reason to act. Even the people around him used “God language” to justify it. But David knew something deeper. Just because something can happen does not mean it should happen.
So he waited.
He trusted God’s timing over his own instincts. He refused to force what God had not yet fulfilled. And in that waiting, he showed something we struggle with often, patience under pressure.
We don’t like the tension of “not yet.” We want clarity. We want movement. We want resolution.
But sometimes faith looks like staying put. Sometimes obedience looks like restraint. Sometimes trusting God means allowing things to remain unresolved for a while.
God is not asking you to figure everything out. He is asking you to trust Him in the middle of it.
So let me ask you;
Where in your life are you being tempted to force something God is asking you to trust Him with instead?
See you Sunday.
