Midweek Devotional: Don't Miss the God Who Is Already There

Sometimes we pray for God to show up, when the greater challenge is learning to recognize that He already has.

Life is loud. Deadlines, worries, responsibilities, and distractions compete for our attention every day. Before long, we can become so focused on what's right in front of us that we miss the quiet ways God is faithfully working behind the scenes.

The book of Esther is unique because God's name is never mentioned. Yet page after page, His fingerprints are everywhere. What looks like coincidence becomes providence. What feels random becomes redemption. God is never absent, even when He seems silent.

The same is true for us.

Maybe God was in the friend who texted at just the right moment. Maybe He was in the strength you didn't know you had for today's challenge. Maybe He was in the unexpected peace that settled over your heart, or the sunrise that reminded you His mercies are new every morning.

The more we intentionally look for Him, the more we begin to notice that He has been with us all along.

Today, before you go to bed, take five quiet minutes and ask yourself one simple question:

"Where did I see God today?"

You might be surprised by how many moments you've overlooked.
