Ep. 2 You can Trust the Bible

Jan 11, 2026    Rev. Jason Shambach

Why do Christians place such importance on the Bible? Because it tells our story. Not a fictional tale or a collection of moral fables, but the true and faithful account of God’s relationship with His creation and His plan to rescue it.

In this message, we explored what it really means to say that the Bible is “our story.” While Scripture contains poetry, wisdom, prophecy, and instruction, where it intends to tell history, it does so truthfully. The Bible presents itself as a reliable witness to real events—especially the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

From the earliest days of the church, Christians were deeply concerned with preserving truth. The apostles and early believers did not rely on vague memories or inspirational ideas, but on eyewitness testimony that was carefully recorded, investigated, and passed down. The New Testament writers consistently appeal to what they had seen, heard, and touched.

In addition, archaeology and historical research continue to affirm the Bible’s accuracy, from confirmed historical figures to corroborating inscriptions and manuscripts. Even concerns about copying errors are addressed by the sheer number and closeness of the manuscripts we possess.

Simply put, the Bible is not asking us to believe a myth—it is inviting us to trust a testimony. And we can. God has given us a Scripture that is trustworthy, reliable, and worthy of shaping our lives.
