Ep. 7 The Battle Begins

Mar 15, 2026    Rev. Jason Shambach

In this message, we explore the story of Jericho and the fall of its walls in Joshua 6. Archaeological discoveries remind us that the biblical account is rooted in real history and that the events described in Scripture can be trusted.

But the story of Jericho is about more than ancient walls. God instructed the Israelites to walk around the city in silence for days, allowing them to fully see the magnitude of the obstacle before them. The lesson was clear. The battle was far beyond their ability to win on their own. If the walls were going to fall, it would be because of God’s power.

In much the same way, we often face “walls” in our own lives that seem impossible to overcome. God sometimes allows us to see these challenges clearly so that we recognize our need for Him. Through silence, reflection, and humility, we learn that victory does not come from our own strength but from trusting in God’s grace.

The story of Jericho reminds us that when we acknowledge our need for God and place our trust in Him, even the strongest walls can fall.
