Ep. 6 Wandering

Mar 8, 2026    Rev. Jason Shambach

In this message, we reflect on the challenge of loving difficult and disappointing people. Looking at Israel’s journey in the wilderness, we see how often they complained, doubted, and failed, yet God continued to show patience and covenant love toward them. Unlike the conditional way we often love others, God’s love does not depend on performance or improvement. It is freely given. This challenges us to reconsider how we treat the difficult people in our own lives. Rather than avoiding them or trying to control them, God may be using these relationships to shape our character, teach us humility, and deepen our capacity for compassion. Learning to love disappointing people is not easy, but it is part of becoming more like Christ and reflecting the grace that God has shown to us.
